In the past couple of days, Marvel fans all around the world were treated with the second and potentially final trailer for the third instalment of the Guardians Of The Galaxy franchise.
It has been six years since the sequel to the much-loved original hit cinema screens, all the way back in 2017. So audiences have had to wait a long time to see the iconic group return together once again. If the trailers are anything to analyse from, then it will certainly be worth the wait.
It is known that Guardians 3 will be the final movie in which we see these characters unite, with a number of the cast and crew stating this as a fact.
With Marvel beginning Phase 5 and taking on a new direction (or "dynasty"), it seems wise for the guardians to end their storyline after three films, especially since the events of Avengers Infinity War and Endgame.
A lot has happened to the group since 2017, in which we last saw them headline a movie, but they are still the much-loved group they always have been and are destined to bring tears of laughter, as well as sadness to the eyes of their audiences this summer.
The film is due to be released on May 5th of this year, around three months after the release of Peyton Reeds "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania".
Within the film's trailer, the theme of "one last ride" was heavily teased throughout. As if we didn't already know that this would be the third and final movie, are marvel also teasing at some potential storyline ends for some characters that we have known to love over the past 9 years? Maybe so.
As well as this, there are several new additions to the cast of GOTG 3 that will be sure to get fans excited. In the post credits scene of the second instalment, it was teased to fans that we would get to see Marvel's Adam Warlock in the film's follow up. It was later confirmed that British actor, Will Poulter, would be playing him.
Although we are yet to hear Warlock exchange dialogue in either of the first two trailers, he does look like an essence of the movie that fans have the right to get excited about.
I’ve gotta say, I never banked on being involved, in any capacity, really, but I’m certainly very grateful. I’m especially grateful that my introduction has taken place in the world of the Guardians, specifically. - Will Poulter
