'All Of Us Strangers' Trailer Shows Love Relationship Between Mescal And Scott

The long-awaited trailer for Andrew Haigh's 'All Of Us Strangers' has finally been released and it goes without saying that movie fans are not disappointed with the first insight into romantic fantasy.

The film, directed by Haigh, stars Andrew Scott who plays a homosexual screenwriter who's life is taken to a whole new playing field when Harry (Paul Mescal) enters his life.

After the two embark into a new and fledgling relationship, Adam (Scott) then discovers his parents seem to be living just as they were 30 years ago, despite passing away when he was 12.

From initial impressions, it seems as though the film will attempt to manage the balance between romance and fantasy, a mixture of genres that we haven't seen attempted by too many filmmakers over the years.

Early critic reviews have stated that both Scott and Mescal provide moving performances that could very well see the pair in consideration for Academy Award nominations when the new year comes around.

Of course, last year we saw Mescal receive an Oscar nod in the Best Actor category for his work in the movie Aftersun. But this time around it would be Scott leading the line, with Mescal supporting him.

'All Of Us Strangers' seems to be loosely based on the story of the book 'Strangers', by Taichi Yamada. The novel was originally published back in 1987, and then officially translated by Wayne Lammers in 2003.

I would be surprised if Searchlight were to release much more content in the build-up to the release date for this film. In regards to the plot and potential storyline, I personally feel as though audiences are aware of as much as they need to be.

The trailer itself is enticing enough, and with a good ad campaign I can see the film garnering mass success, not only financially but also when awards season comes around at the front end of 2024.
