Chalamet’s Wonka Unveiled To Fans In New Trailer

If you are a fan of Tim Burton’s 2005 classic, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, then you are destined to get excited about the recent trailer drop for Paul King’s “Wonka”.

The story of Wonka is set to take form as a prequel to Tim Burton’s 2005 classic, showing us the origin of the iconic character of Willy Wonka.

Willy Wonka has been brought to life in the past by well-known actors such as Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp, but this time around we will see the character take a much younger form through the appearance of none other than Timothee Chalamet.

Last year it was announced that Chalamet would be taking on the iconic role of Mr Wonka, through a social media post from the French-American actor himself. Little action has since occurred on the scene of the movie, until just two days ago we were gifted with our first look.

The movie is directed by Paul King, a British writer who you may know as the man who directed Paddington 1 & 2. Both films received high praise from critics and have combined rotten tomatoes score of 196%.

So, it’s fair to say that the film is in good hands.

Chalamet is also joined by familiar names such as Keegan Michael-Key, Matt Lucas, Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman, Sally Hawkins and even Hugh Grant as the first computer-generated Oompa Loompa.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait the whole duration of the trailer to see Hugh Grant take form as an Oompa Loompa, but it is certainly worth the wait.

The story of “Wonka” is set to follow Timothee Chalamet as a younger version as to what we have seen before of the iconic character, looking to break into the chocolate-making industry and make a name for himself.

It was confirmed not long ago that the film will in fact be a musical that will feature a number of singing and dancing sequences. Something that we are yet to see Chalamet do throughout his acting career so far.

The trailer previews a wide range of stunning sets as well as impressive and unique-looking costume designs that could well be up there for one of the best of the year.

Wonka is set for release in the UK on December 15th this year, just in time for Christmas. To watch the full trailer, visit the following link:
