Aaron Taylor-Johnson Returns To Marvel In Kraven The Hunter Trailer

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has made his return to the Marvel stage, but not in the shape or form that we would have expected.

Throughout recent years, the British actor has been known to portray iconic Marvel hero, Quicksilver, in a couple of MCU projects such as Avengers: Age of Ultron and very briefly in Captain America: The Winter Solider.

Although his fictional sister, Wanda Maximoff has lived on and made quite the name for herself within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Pietro Maximoff was sadly killed in the second Avengers movie, showing the last of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s face within any Marvel production.

…Or so we thought.

Kraven The Hunter is a Sony Marvel production that is set to release to theatres in October of 2023 and is set to star Taylor-Johnson as the ruthless and vicious anti-hero.

Although the British actor is set to headline the movie, he is also joined by familiar faces such as Russell Crowe and recent Academy Award winner, Ariana DeBose.

We very recently saw Crowe make his MCU debut in Thor: Love & Thunder, portraying the Greek God of Lighting, Zeus. However, he is now set to have dual responsibility throughout the broader Marvel Universe (or Multiverse), as he takes on the role of Kravens Father in this film, Nikolai Kravinoff.

I don’t believe that anyone, other than Kevin Feige himself, has genuine clearance in regard to where Sony currently stand with their relationship to Disney. But despite this we have seen recent crossovers throughout the two universes that hint at a broader storyline for this production.

The inclusion of Tom Hardy’s Venom in the post-credit scene for Spiderman: No Way Home is only a sample of evidence that supports the idea of Kraven appearing within the main MCU. Michael Keaton’s appearance in Morbius is also another example of this.

So, although there is very little clearance as to where this character belongs and where we are likely to see him again after this movie comes out in October, we can still never say never.

Recent Marvel projects clearly prove that they have a never say never attitude towards just about anything.

If you are unaware of the storyline or origin of the character of Kraven The Hunter, he is essentially a powerful anti-hero that utilises his ability and similarities of animal-like features to kill the evil people that his Father unnaturally breeds into the world.

Or at least, that’s what the trailer tells us.

There are very few moments within this trailer that fail to entertain it’s viewers. Audience members barely have a second to look away as so much is going on, which is exactly what you wish for in a Marvel project.

But if there is anything that Sony Marvel crossover productions have taught us, it’s that you can’t be fooled by the contents of a 180 second trailer, and that the film itself may not live up to the hype.

We have seen this with recent movies such as Morbius and Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Regardless, the trailer is an enticing and entertaining watch that has the right to get viewers excited for when the movie’s release comes around in October.

Taylor-Johnson is a brilliant actor, who without a doubt, will do an exceptional job as the first live action Kraven The Hunter, and fans really should be getting excited to see this film.
