Earlier this week fans received their first insight into the upcoming feature from the dark yet satirical mind of acclaimed filmmaker, Ari Aster. His new project 'Eddington' follows citizens of a small town in New Mexico, as they all provide different takes and reactions to the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

In the off-chance that you may go into this trailer with aspirations of receiving any kind of plot or synopsis about this film, don't get your hopes up. As in typical Ari Aster fashion, all we are left to play with is pure vibes, as well as no idea how to feel about them whatsoever.

However, what we can come to assumption of is that Joaquin Phoenix is our cast-leading protagonist, taking shape as who we can only assume is the Sheriff in the town of Eddington. As we see him doom-scroll on instagram whilst laid in bed, we see him come across familiar faces such as Pedro Pascal as a mayoral candidate, Austin Butler as a hipster protester and Emma Stone as a worried and apologetic wife.

It wouldn't be idiotic to assume that 'Eddington' will take on a comedic and satirical commentary on the events that took place during the Covid-19 pandemic. Much like the manor that was displayed throughout the events that we saw on screen during 'Beau Is Afraid'. But maybe this time without the need for 20-foot high penises.

But in a world where all we can do is make assumptions about this film, one things for sure and that's that if 'Eddington' is anything similar to the likes of Asters previous three features, it's going to be worth a trip to the local cinema.
